The V Word: Vaccines
On the very same day that president Barack Obama was awarded the noble peace prize, newspapers around the Bay were focusing on another success story. The swine flu vaccines were scheduled to arrive. The location and amount of vaccinations were being reported with a tracking fever that is normally reserved for tornados or Santa Claus. The stories rang with alarm to get in line or be left behind. Is there cause for alarm? Instead of making sure we are each making an informed decision when it comes to vaccinations, it may be best to err on the side of caution. The current recommendation for flu vaccines is geared towards the very young, the elderly, the pregnant and those with immune comprised systems. Yet studies have shown that these groups of people are the most likely to have negative reactions to the harmful adjuncts in a vaccine. Dr. Kent Holtort, during an interview on cnbc said, “ Thermisol [mercury] found in vaccines causes mitochondrial dysfunction and the mercury levels in the swine flu vaccine are 25,000 times higher then what the FDA considers safe for even food or water”. Thermisol is a proven neurotoxin that has a devastating effect on those with chronic fatigue, fibromaylagia and blood brain barrier disorders. Both the seasonal and swine flu vaccine contain mercury, but that is not all. Vaccines also contain a substance that lives happily in humans and in some of our food supply, squalene. The studies of what squalene does to human cells when injected directly into the blood stream are truly saddening. Squalene is a necessary component of life that allows the human body to synthesize cholesterol, steroid hormones and vitamin D. Yet when given as an adjunct in vaccines, has been linked to Gulf War syndrome, Raynaud’s syndrome and Sjogren’s syndrome. The reason for the adverse reaction is due to the fact that the human immune system will create antibodies to squalene and attack existing natural, helpful reserves. The Pentagon was ordered by federal court to stop administering squalene in 2004. Dr Holtort also reported that the swine flu was losing it’s virulence and acting as a regular flu. Many medical doctors are experiencing this with the cases of suspected H1N1 viruses coming in to their office. Other news from the associated press was this statement made by Dr. Daniel Jernigan, the deputy director of the CDC influenza division, “We’re concerned folks are focused on the numbers and missing that influenza is monitored by looking at trends”. This was his response to the news that U.S. health officials have stopped tracking the number of swine flu cases way back in July when they estimated that more than 1 million citizens were infected. If there is no exact number of infections how will we know if there is a true emergency or not? As concerned citizens of this planet one emergency that we can be sure of, and one of the most responsible things we can do to protect us against this fear based media craze is to call for a complete ban of factory farming. In the last forty years humans got their flu and the pigs and birds got their own flu, then suddenly in 1999, a hybrid virus appears on the scene. The biggest change leading up to that time was the way humans produced food. Where livestock once grazed freely there was a widening emergence of factory farm operations. It may be commonly known that over crowding of livestock creates diseases, but perhaps it is more obscured that one of those diseases is in fact the swine flu. It has become nearly impossible to stop the spread of disease in feedlots. Even with the strictest of sanitation methods bacteria and viruses become airborne. Meat producers cannot pump enough antibiotics and vaccines into their animals to insure public safety so the government will lend a hand by providing us with vaccinations instead.
